Danny walks us through the larger to talk about the three kinds of insulation used on our project and the reasoning behind it.

As always, happy to answer questions, and build you a home of your own 😉

✏️ Class Time: FEMA, Pouring Footings, Wading Winter Rivers

If you follow us on stories, you may have seen us trying to solve our FEMA setback (pun intended). Long story short, we were told we needed to push the house closer to the road than the homeowner wanted.

Something to know about Danny, is that he doesn't just accept "information provided," which meant our hero Brandon tossed on his waders and marched across the river with a long tape measure. Danny wanted to get an accurate measurement, instead of relying on satellite estimates.

You have 24 hours to see the progress tour on stories (Live 12pm MST 12/12).

⭐️We have temporary stairs in, which means you get your first peek into to the second level! ⭐️

In the tour, Danny keeps referring to this house as “big boy” so we definitely need to come up with a name. I don’t see future clients calling him saying “I would like to inquire about building the Big Boy.” I feel like that would be embarrassing for all of us.

We bought this lot in 2018(?) and it had an existing foundation on it. We had zero extra dollars in our budget so we had to fit the design within the parameters of the foundation. That alone was a task. I decided to start this Instagram so our family could follow along, but no one besides my father seemed really interested. Turns out we were wrong. A lot of you were interested, and still are. For that, we are incredibly grateful.
In the beginning, you watched us pick out our selections, tweak design, have arguments (we’re keeping it real), give input on our ideas, and cheered us along. Thanks for being here, believing in us, and asking us to build you beautiful homes. It all happened because one day we said, “F*ck it. Let’s just build something fun.” Highly recommend.

Progress tour live on stories tonight! You’re going to swoon when you see the staircase, the finishes are stunning, and the window wall is 🤌.

Stay tuned. Stories die in 24 hours so jump on them while they are up!

Progress tour is up on stories! You have 24 hours to binge until we get our tails back up there to film.

What do we call this version? Taking suggestions!

The deets: 2000 sf (1200 on ground level to make the CCR gods happy). 3 bed, 2 bath, huge slider for dining entry, upper deck, bonus loft, L-shaped kitchen and just so pretty, amiright?

Also, Danny hates it when we both wear these shoes but what a happy accident.

The photo and video are of the same house (not literally, know what I mean?). Every time I’m in the footprint of a house, I’m convinced we have measured incorrectly and it’s smaller than it should be. They alway feel so tiny until the walls go up and it magically turns into the size you wanted.

After we snapped this quick pic, we walked down the street to check on another we are finishing up. It looks huge in comparison. Granted, in the video I’m looking down the roofline (which extends beyond the foundation) but it’s still a trip. It looks 4 times as long.

It makes me think of the book, “House of Leaves.” It’s a story with a house that’s bigger on the inside than the outside. I couldn’t finish it—creeped me out too much 😂
