Columbian Lodge A.F. & A.M.

Columbian Lodge A.F. & A.M. Columbian Lodge is one of the oldest Masonic Lodges in the United States, instituted in 1795 by Paul Revere.

Columbian Lodge is an active, hard-working Lodge, well-known for a rich tradition of ritual and charity. Our monthly meetings consist of actively bringing in new candidates, conducting the normal business of the Lodge, and planning charitable events and contributions. Our Officers meet additional times during the month to prepare themselves for the meeting ahead. We donate both time and money to v

arious charities, concentrating our efforts in the Boston area - specifically, we have hosted a basketball tournament for the Home for Little Wanderers for the last 12 years! We have also begun to get more active with Habitat for Humanity, the American Red Cross, myCHIP, and many others.

Happy St. Patrick’s day!

“May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
the rains fall soft upon your fields,
and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the hollow of His hand.”

🇺🇸✨ Happy 4th of July, my friends and Brothers! ✨🇺🇸

Today, we celebrate the birth of a nation built on the timeless principles of liberty, equality, and brotherly love. As Masons, we are proud to remember that many of our Founding Fathers — including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Paul Revere — sat in Lodge just as we do, committed to the ideals of freedom and the betterment of mankind.

May this day remind us all to cherish the freedoms we enjoy, to stand for truth and justice, and to continue laboring for the good of our families, our communities, and our great country.

Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸🔨⚒️

On this Father’s Day, we take a moment to reflect upon and honor the enduring influence of fathers, grandfathers, mentors, and Brothers whose steady guidance and have helped shape the men we are today. Within our homes, our lodges, and our communities, these individuals have exemplified the principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth, leaving lasting impressions upon the lives they have touched.

It is equally important to recognize and celebrate those who, by choice and by love, have stepped into the role of “father” — in our lives. Those who nurture, guide, protect, and inspire others deserve our gratitude and admiration. Freemasonry teaches us that the bonds of care and mentorship transcend mere labels, and it is through these selfless acts of devotion that the values of our Craft are most powerfully transmitted.

The most profound lessons are often shared not through grand declarations, but through consistent example. It is through the actions of those — fathers by birth, fathers by bond, and fathers by choice — who have modeled virtue, patience, integrity, and compassion, that our Fraternity and our communities continue to thrive. Their wisdom reminds us that the true measure of a person is not found in titles or accolades, but in the character they uphold and the legacy they leave in the hearts and minds of others.

Today, let us give thanks for those among us who serve as pillars of strength and guidance, and also remember with reverence those who have laid down their working tools and entered that house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. May their examples continue to inspire us in our daily lives and in our Masonic journeys.

On behalf of the officers of the First Masonic District, I extend to each of you, and to the fathers within your families — by birth, by bond, and by choice — our warmest wishes for a meaningful Father’s Day.

Fraternally and respectfully,
R.W. Daniel L. Taylor
District Deputy Grand Master
First Masonic District of Massachusetts

On this Memorial Day, I join my Brothers in honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. As Freemasons, we hold dear the values of duty, honor, and service — principles that these heroes lived by and gave their lives for.

Let us remember those who laid down their lives so that we might live in peace and liberty and let us also extend a hand of comfort to the families they left behind.

May we keep their memory alive, not just in words, but in our actions — by standing for what is right, supporting one another, and building a better world in their honor.

In this spirit of giving thanks, Columbian Lodge would like to thank the crew of brothers who ventured out to Westford in the rain on November 23rd to assist in a Habitat for Humanity build day.

This is a cherished activity for the lodge and a golden opportunity to apply some "operative" masonry instead of the usual "speculative" masonry!

Hearty congratulations to Brothers Tom McDonough and Frank Villari on receiving the Master Builder Award, which was presented by the Grand Master himself at last night's District 1 Lodge of Instruction.

We are incredibly proud of these brothers for completing the requirements for the award and for having gone above and beyond to represent Columbian so admirably in the district and jurisdiction. Huzzah!
