First order of business was to report the financial balance. As of this posting, after all the fundraising, fundraising expenses, bus down payment, bus fees collected and bus expenses paid the Boston Chapter WFR has a beginning balance of $1032.00.

It was discussed and decided by those in attendance to continue with the current way of banking, which is through an account with Taylor Wornum and Dwight Wornum. As of this posting , it was also discussed and decided that the financial aspect will be handled by the treasurer. Which brings us to the next order of business.

Second order of business was to elect the officials of the Boston Chapter WFR. The following positions were filled through a volunteering basis, then discussed and agreed upon by those in attendance.

President-Keitrice Johnson

Vice President- Eddie Woumnm

Treasurer-Brenda Wornum-Moore

Secretary-NEEDS TO BE FILLED

Historian-Sheila Wornum

Historian Assistant-NEEDS TO BE FILLED

Bus Committee-Phillip Wornum

Eddie Woumnm

Sheila Wornum

Website Technician-Mariah Wornum

As you may have noticed there are a couple of significant positions that still need to be filled, if you would like to volunteer for either of those positions please be present at the next meeting. Remember if taking on an official role is not for you, there are plenty of other ways to be a part of the Boston Chapter WFR. Come to a meeting and see what promising opportunities are available!

Another topic that was discussed was the location of the next 2 reunions, which was announced at the WFR business meeting in Detroit:

Charlotte NC-2021

Boston MA-2023

Fundraising was also mentioned. It was discussed and decided that we would continue the Bottle & Can Drive as well as the Spare Change Drive. Feel free to send any monies you collect and wish to donate to the Treasurer-Brenda Wornum-Moore. Also please keep in mind, fundraisers will be held throughout the years so any new ideas are welcomed.

A new T-shirt theme was mentioned, to be used when the reunion comes to Boston, MA in 2023. The details will be further discussed as we get closer to that date.

I would like to thank you all for your continued support and participation. I looked forward to seeing MANY new faces at the meetings and events as the years progress.

The next meeting is scheduled for Saturday November 2, 2019 @ 3pm to be held at 40 Old Morton St Mattapan MA.

Have a great day!

The balance is due May 28th. Please make your final payment as close to that date as possible. While the payment plan was setup for your convenience, it is also used as a guideline for the bus committee to make payments to the bus company.

Good morning family,

Just a FYI, the seats for the bus are filling up fast, so if you have been undecided on whether to take the bus or not, now is the time to make that decision.

So if you are interested in taking the bus and have not sent in your bus deposit, please do so as soon as possible. The next payment of $50.00 is due March 28th. While the payment plan is setup for your convenience, it is also used as a guideline for the bus committee to prepare to make payments to the bus company.

Feel free to contact me for a bus form with payment schedule. Thank you for your attention and cooperation.

Hello family,

Here we are the first of March! We still have April Calendar raffle cards to sell (or purchase)! We have about 150 cards left, there is still time to participate. As mentioned before, in order to make this fundraiser successful, we need as many people as possible to get involved. The hope of this fundraiser is to sell at least 200 cards (by March 31st ) at $10.00 apiece. The drawing will begin April 3rd. With that we could raise at least $2000.00 and after paying out a total of $1100.00 in prizes we can stand to make a profit of $900.00. Everyone's participation would be greatly appreciated so that the burden of reaching this goal is not left up to a few. If you are not familiar with this type of fundraiser, I will happily explain it. To get your raffle cards you can contact me, Gina Hagood, via email [email protected].

The purpose of this fundraiser is to cover the driver’s expenses i.e. 2 nights hotel stay, a ticket to the reunion to cover some of his meals and gratuities. Also for anyone interested in taking the bus, I have attached the bus form. Thank you for your attention and participation.

Have a great day,

Gina Hagood

Happy New Year Family,

I hope this new year finds everyone well in mind, body and spirit. We have skated out of 2016 on a high note! On Thursday December 29th we had our Skate Party fundraiser, which turned out to be another successful fundraiser to add to the books!! Thank yous go out to everyone who came and showed their support (and fancy skating moves) and also to those non-skaters that took photos, chaperoned or made monetary donations. As always your participation was greatly appreciated. Because of you, we raised $780.00, paid out $305.00 in expenses ($240.00 to Chez-Vous and $65.00 to be paid for the printing of tickets), giving us a profit of $475.00. This brings our seed money total to $2088.43...YAAAY, we have reached our goal!

For those of you who plan to take the bus, please send your name and current mailing address to me, Gina Hagood, via email at [email protected]. I will be needing this information as soon as possible, so I can get the bus form/payment plan to you before the first payment is due. If you already sent your information you should have received the form by now.

Since we will be responsible for the driver’s hotel accommodations and gratuity we are considering one more fundraiser to cover that cost. That will be one of the topics discussed at the next meeting which will be Sunday February 12, 2017 at 3pm to be held at 49 Almont St Mattapan. All are welcomed to attend.

Thank you in advance for your attention and cooperation.

Have a great day
