I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported us since I began making shoes in 2020. One of the reasons I began making shoes was to supplement income to help us with the wildly expensive IVF process. After we had our daughter in 2016 we wanted to continue to grow our family, but after years of going to all different kinds of doctors with no explanation to why we couldn't conceive, we were told that IVF was our last option.

When I first started curling everyone at the BG curling club said the same thing. That curlers are the nicest people ever. In fact if I were ever stranded in a different city, I could call up the local curling club and someone would let me crash on their couch. This always stuck in my mind and as it turns out ended up being true.

The IVF Dr. that we chose was located near Detroit, 2.5 hours from our home. Making the 5 hour round trip from our house multiple times a week is tough enough but the 6:30 am appointments made it very difficult for my wife, who was also trying to work her job during the process. I reached out to the club to see if anyone knew anyone around that area so that my wife could come up the night before her appointments and stay. We were given the name of a curler from the Detroit curling club, Laura Call, and after contacting her she was more than willing to help us out. Also a big thank you to JP Phailing for donating a few hotel nights in our early trips up there.

After exhausting every option from several doctors over 6 years and completing 1 round of mini IVF and one regular round, we are proud to announce that we are expecting a baby girl at the end of November!
