Sitka today chewing on a piece of rawhide. The pups are acclimating well with the adult wolves, Koa, Shasta and Shilo. Once in a while, they get a little irritating to Koa and Shilo, but overall they’re having a good time in the bigger enclosure having lots of things to do and eat.

Shilo and Raven, brothers from different mothers, finally together with Kiowa, Sitka, and Sierra in the same enclosure.

Kiowa and Shilo together in the same enclosure. Today we placed our two Arctic pups, Sitka and Sierra, in the larger enclosure with Kiowa, Shilo, and Raven. We placed Koa and Shasta together in the smaller enclosure. All went well, so far.

Koa gently showing dominance over Shilo. Never has Koa ever bitten or harmed Shilo or Raven. We hope that holds true when we introduce Sitka and Sierra into the enclosure with him.

Shasta today on the ridge. 10 years old and still going strong. She’s become much friendlier toward people as she’s gotten older.

It’s amazing how fast Sitka and Sierra are growing. In a few weeks they will be placed in the large enclosure with Koa, Shilo, and Shasta. Kudos to our pup sitters who have spent many hours each day making the pups feel comfortable around people. These two Arctic wolves are a welcome addition to the Howlers Inn Wolf sanctuary. By the way, we have a few room openings in September. Check our website at howlersinn.com for the exact days.
