Visitors, please be aware that Longhouse Scenic Drive is now open to through traffic.

This closure was part of the ongoing, road improvement project funded through the Great American Outdoors Act. The work includes repaving miles of scenic roadway, repairing a landslide area, replacing guide rails, and updating road signs to improve the visitor experience.

This work will bring long-term benefits for travelers, local communities, and the forest ecosystem. To learn about more public land projects, visit www.fs.usda.gov/managing-land/gaoa.

Update both dogs are home safe!

Anyone recognize this dog? Found near dunkle corners boat launch. She was running around with another small terrier type dog, but couldn’t catch that one. Very young dog.

Offering tent and RV camping in the Allegheny National Forest, we also have cabins and boat rentals. We have primitive to developed camping with various activities to accommodate all recreational needs.

Kiasutha and Dewdrop will open 5/21/26 at 2pm.
Kiasutha restrooms will be completed 5/21, so some may not be open until Friday. We do have a few site open for walk in. Messages or calls for availability can be made to 814.598.3149.
Dewdrop has 2 sites open.

Dewdrop must be accessed from North end of Longhouse from route 59.
Kiasutha can only be accessed south end of Longhouse from route 321.
Elijah Run can only be accessed from the South end of Longhouse from Route 321.

The Klondike Office summer hours will be 10 to 6 closed on Tuesdays and Sundays. 814.363.9090

Recreation Area update 5/1/2026

Buckaloons camping and day-use open with all facilities open

Hearts Content open with potable water

Loleta water and showerhouse are now open.

The water level on the reservoir is now back to regular summer pool, so docks are actually accessible without waders..... Elijah Run, still needs installed.

Sneak peak at Kiasutha facility upgraded shower building and rehabilitation.

Willow Bay 4/17/26, Hopefully the flooding is over, we should get them all today as long as we don't run into any issues.

Elijah was still under water and with it project water level going another 4 to 5 feet over the weekend we had to postpone Elijah. We are getting Kiasutha.

Docks in for 4/17 will be Willow Bay, Webbs Ferry and Kiasutha. We will get Elijah as soon as the weather permits.

Recreation Area Update 4/2/26

Willow Bay is open with water. Hemlock shower building is open. Aspen is being replumbed, so it will not be open by the weekends.

Red Bridge is open with water. South shower building is open. North building will not open for another week or two.

Loleta electric loop is open, water is not on yet.

Tracy Ridge loop A is cleaned up and ready, crews are working to get the rest of the campground opened up and ready.

Minister Creek and Kelly Pines are also open and ready to go.
