Hiked up north this week to run some bear with the hounds! We were doing the Chelsea’s chance charity hunt for Lugdon Lodge and it was a ton of fun. Congratulations Chris on your bear we hope to hunt with you again sometime. Thanks Ed and Marion for a great time as always.

What a day! This bear was a smart one for sure it took us back and forth across the brook multiple times and ran back over and through its tracks at least a half a dozen times trying to slip the dogs down in the bog but they were finally able to bring it up out of there and get it treed. Thomas was able to put a good shot on it with his dad by his side and the rest was history! Congrats Thomas on a nice 230lb dry sow with a nice white V!

Congratulations to the winner of our Bear Hunt for Bryce raffle, Andrey Karachev!

We want to say a big thank you to everyone who shared the fundraiser and donated. Our community has come together in many ways to help support this little boy and his family, it has been amazing to see. This contribution we’re able to make wouldn’t be possible without all of you!!

As many people in our community know, sweet little Bryce was recently involved in a terrible accident. He is currently being treated in Boston and has a long road of recovery ahead of him. His parents and sister are right where they need to be, by his side. We want to do our part to help raise money and alleviate any financial burdens they may face in the future.

We are selling raffle tickets for a fully guided 2027 Bear Hunt here at Gunsmoke Lodge. There will be 200 tickets available at $20 each. The winner will choose between a bear hunt over bait or with hounds.

100% of proceeds will go directly to Bryce’s family! Tickets can be purchased by check, cash, or Venmo. This family has been shown so much love and support, we hope it continues on!

If you’d like to help out in more ways, there is a GoFundMe page available and other small fundraisers in the area happening.
