NOTICE TO ALL RESIDENTS: There have been two incidents of theft in Lighthouse Cove in the past week. A boat was stolen from the marina, and two cars were broken into and things stolen. Please be sure to lock your cars and close your garage doors when not around. If you see people around that don't belong, question why they are here. If you see something and suspect foul play, please call police.

ATTENTION ALL BOAT OWNERS: There is a short window for everyone to remove their boats from the water using the new boat ramp. The ramp is not finished and has loosely packed gravel. As a result, only Ken's Pontoon (815) 634-4248 and Rick of T & S (815) 405-1843 can remove boats using this ramp. Dockside Marine is calling their clients and setting up times to remove their boats. Boats can be removed Wednesday, October 17, Thursday, October 18, Friday, October 19 until noon, Sunday October 21, and Monday - Wednesday, October 29-31. Please contact Ken's Pontoon or Rick at T & S at the numbers listed above to make an appointment to remove your boat. They will get the boat on to your trailer for you. Rick is doing this for no charge. If you store your boat with Dockside and they have not called you, please call them. If you have any questions, please contact the Shadow Lakes office at (815) 458-3647 or contact any Board member.

DON'T FORGET THE 4TH ANNUAL BLOCK PARTY! Saturday, August 25. The fun begins at 1:00 in the center entrance to Lighthouse Cove. Set up your chili for the chili contest, and your other items and name tags. At 2:00 lunch will be ready and the Fire Department arrives. The firefighters will determine the chili champion. At 3:00 the golf cart contest will be held. Decorate your golf cart in a Hawaiian theme! At 3:20 is the kids bike contest - bikes decorated in a hawaiian theme. At 3:40 will be the pet costume contest. At 4:00 is Family Bingo. Bounce house, music, bean bags, snow cones, and popcorn will be available the enitre time. Come on over, talk to your neighbors, enjoy some great food, and have a lot of fun!

NOTICE: Razor's Edge Landscaping will begin re-stoning the walkways Monday, August 20. All owner's stepping stones or pavers will be returned to their original location.

REMINDER: ELECTRICAL WORK TO BEGIN MONDAY, JUNE 9. As indicated in the minutes of the June 24th meeting, the electrical project to replace wiring and improve the safety of the public areas will begin on Monday, July 9. The work will start at the north end heading to the Lighthouse and park area. The project should be completed in 2 weeks. Please be careful walking as trenching will be required. Additionally, if you have patio blocks or pavers that extend across the gravel walkway and you want to preserve them, you should remove them prior to the work being done. The HOA will not be responsible for any pavers removed or damaged as a result of this work. Again, this applies only to pavers on the public walkway. Please contact any Board member if you have any questions.

Just over a week ago a large section of land in Shadow Lakes was purchased which resulted in the closing of the boat ramp for Hawk Lake, as well as a section of Hole in the Wall Road. The LHC-HOA Board is aware of the problem and is working with Shadow Lakes to find a solution. Updates will follow as they are available.

URGENT NOTICE TO BOAT OWNERS: If you have a boat, please try to get it back in the water by April 1. The land at the other side of the lake has been sold, which includes the boat launch. It is possible that the new owner may fence off the boat launch on or shortly after April 1. Shadow Lakes is planning to build a new boat launch by the fishing pier that will be ready to move the boats out in the fall.

REMINDER: Please join us for the Lighthouse Cove Quarterly Meeting, tomorrow, March 25, 1:00, at the Shadow Lakes Amenity Center. Everyone's opinion is important. Please join your neighbors to hear what is going on, ask questions, or voice your opinions. We hope to see you there!

REMINDER: Three seats on the Board are up for re-election on December 4. The three candidates are Tom Minett (234), Pat Mueller (189), and Walt Wagoner (159). Ballots were mailed to each residence last week. Please bring your ballot to the December 4th meeting. If you cannot attend the meeting, please mail your ballot by December 1st following the instructions included in the mailing. If you have any questions, please comment to this post or contact any Board member.

5) Appointment to fill Bob Fickensher's seat.
