Women Veterans Recognition Day (also known as Women Veterans Appreciation Day) is observed annually on June 12 to honor the service, sacrifice, and contributions of women who have worn our nation's uniform. The date marks the anniversary of the signing of the Women's Armed Services Integration Act of 1948, which granted women the right to serve as permanent members of the U.S. military.
Today, the Brainerd Elks Lodge would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all active-duty women service members and women veterans. Your dedication, courage, and commitment to serving our country have helped shape the history of our armed forces and continue to inspire future generations.
