If you’re heading out on the water, remember to Clean, Drain, Dispose to protect our waters from aquatic invasive species!

Regardless of the activity — boating, paddling, fishing, moving shoreline equipment, using recreational gear on the water, or caring for aquarium pets or water gardens — everyone can pledge to do their part and take several simple actions to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species.
Follow Minnesota laws by:

⛵ Cleaning watercraft, trailers and equipment to remove aquatic plants and prohibited invasive species.

⛵ Draining all water and leaving drain plugs out during transport.

⛵ Disposing of unwanted bait in the trash.

⛵ Never releasing bait, plants or aquarium pets into Minnesota waters.

⛵ Drying docks, lifts and rafts for 21 days before moving them from one water body to another.

Before you leave the lake remember to help stop the spread of Aquatic Invasive Species. Remove all visible aquatic vegetation from your boat, propeller, anchor, lines and trailer before leaving any body of water. We have watercraft inspectors available at many boat landings across the county to help with questions. Decontamination stations available too. Let’s keep our beautiful lakes clean!
