Ever wonder how our cabins got their names??
When we created the ATV TrailCamp, we knew we wanted each of our cabins to have a name that meant something.
Rather than choosing random names, we wanted to honor the history of the mountain we now call home.
Our property sits on Coaldale Mountain, where coal mining once shaped the lives of families and helped build the community that existed here long before the Hatfield McCoy Trails.
On January 4, 1906, the Coaldale Mine experienced a tragic explosion that claimed the lives of 22 miners. To honor those men, each of our cabins is named after one of the miners who lost their life that day.
Inside every cabin, you'll find the framed display pictured here, sharing the story behind the cabin names and the history of Coaldale Mountain. We hope you'll take a moment to read it during your stay and learn the story behind the name by your cabin's door.
