At Kanakuk, we believe that America's greatest natural resource is our youth. Since 1926, we've been showing kids the joy of a relationship with Christ through excellence in non-denominational sports training, camping adventures, and Christian mentoring. Foundational to our mission is the scripture: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul...love your neighbor as yourself" (Matt

hew 22), and we strive to make sure that every Kamper- regardless of age- understands how it looks to walk in unison with these verses. Coupling World-Class adventure along with hearts of servant-leadership, our staff of over 2,500 hand-picked college Christian athletes mentors to your child through nightly cabin devotionals, counselor/Kamper time, youth-rally style (age appropriate) talks, and consistent Christian mentoring. It's our greatest hope that your child will return home ready to take what they've learned here, and share it with the world around them. WHAT WE BELIEVE:

ONE TRUE GOD

We believe the one true God has revealed Himself the eternally self-existent "I AM", the creator of Heaven and Earth. Genesis 1:1; Exodus 3:14; Isaiah 43:10 - 11

THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

We believe that Jesus Christ is the "Image of the invisible God" and that in Him "all deity dwells in bodily form." We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His death on the cross as the substitutionary atonement for sin, His literal bodily resurrection from the dead, His present ministry of intercession in Heaven, and His personal future return to the earth. THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts men of sin and regenerates, indwells, seals, sets apart, and empowers believers for service and for holy living and a holy life. We believe that "God is at work within us both to will and work to His good pleasure" and that "He will continue to perfect us until the day of Christ Jesus." John 14:16; Romans 8:14, 16; Ephesians 1:13; Philippians 1:6; Philippians 2:13

THE GODHEAD

We believe in the unity and trinity of the Godhead existing in three persons: The Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit. These three persons are One God having the same nature, attributes, and perfection. Genesis 1:26; John 1:14, 15:26, 17:21; Ephesians 4:4-6

It feels like in many ways we’ve all been thrown in the DEEP END this past year which has brought to surface what we truly DEPEND on. We’ve always known we have a God who we can trust but we are now confronted in more ways than ever with our willingness to do so. Will we tread the water of our own independence or rest in the life saving salvation of our dependence on Him?

As you join us on our little “Ozark Island” of K-Kauai this summer, our hope is that it would create the space for you and your family to fix your eyes on a Savior who saves no matter how big the waves around you are or how far adrift your heart feels like it may be. This summer, let’s rest in His salvation

Party themes are live and every enrolled family in summer 2020 should have received an email from Joe White today w/ an update about summer, so check your inboxes (for any specific questions please contact our registrar Cara Conway)

The Official 2020 K-Kauai Theme is...MAHALO

MAHALO is one of the most beautiful words in the Hawaiian language in both sound and significance. In its most simple form it means thank you, but not like we use it. We offer quick, off handed “thanks” all the time. Where our “thank yous” can often be very hollow, MAHALO has a depth that is thoughtful and contemplative in how it’s offered. MAHALO extends the deepest sense of gratitude possible. Are you thankful for your job or are you MAHALO? Are you thankful for your health or are you MAHALO? Are you thankful for your spouse, kids, parents, family, etc even when seasons are challenging? MAHALO sustains regardless of circumstances.

As you join us on our little “Ozark Island” of K-Kauai this summer, our hope is that it would create the space for your head and heart to reflect on how we have, who we have and what we have in order to reclaim the deep gratitude found in the One who is the giver of all we have; because, “a grateful heart, is full of greatness”
