“The Castle That Burned Down—Leaving a Staircase in the Forest
📍 Location: Chesterfield, New Hampshire, USA
🏗️ Construction: Built around 1929–1930 as a French château-inspired summer home for Antoinette “Madame Sherri” Bramare.
🏚️ Current Status: Forest ruins remain, including parts of the stone staircase, foundation and chimney. The upper staircase partially collapsed in July 2021, and the ruins are unsafe to climb.

🏚️ A grand summer home, extravagant parties, and a staircase left behind in the woods.
Madame Sherri’s Castle was built around 1930 by Antoinette “Madame Sherri” Bramare, a French-born costume designer known for her dramatic style and lavish gatherings.
After her fortunes declined, the unusual château fell into neglect and burned in 1962. Its stone foundation, chimney and part of its famous staircase still stand in the forest today.
The upper staircase partially collapsed in 2021, so visitors should admire the ruins from a safe distance and never climb on the stonework.

Miller Farm Harvest Party and Paul’s 90th Birthday Celebration!!!!

October 4th starting at 11AM to 3pm at the farm. Activities will include, Farm tour, hay rides, pet a calf ,milk a cow, bounce house, get a free Miller Milk, a history of Miller Farm presentation at 1PM , and more.

We are thrilled to announce that updates have officially begun at Comfort Inn & Suites in Brattleboro, VT!
We’re giving our guest rooms and corridors a fresh new look, starting with complete flooring upgrades. Out with the old, and in with stylish, modern patterned carpeting!

Storage containers packed with brand-new flooring have arrived on-site.
Our teams are hard at work prepping subfloors and removing older carpets.
Unrolling the beautiful new blue-grey designs that will soon elevate your stay!
We are doing everything possible to ensure a seamless, comfortable experience for our current guests while work is underway. Thank you for your continued support as we enhance our property!

Guilford Fair is almost here again…
Come stay and enjoy one of our amazing annual events that people come far and wide to enjoy.

The Guilford Fair honors and promotes Vermont’s agricultural traditions in a way that is both educational and entertaining. People come to relax and to watch the horse draw, cattle and horse shows and sheep shearing demonstrations. There is live music to enjoy and beautiful homegrown produce, flowers, handiwork and hobbies to admire. The Guilford Fair continues to be an opportunity to catch up with old friends, support community organizations, and enjoy the last fleeting days of summer.The Guilford Fair was first held on Labor Day September 7, 1942. It was a day when work was set aside for a little while, and friends and neighbors were able to gather and catch up on the events of the summer. It was a huge success and an annual tradition was born.
