We'd like to give a big thank you to the riders from Stinger Harley-Davidson H.O.G. Chapter #3609 near Cleveland, Ohio, who stayed with us last night! They were on their way home from a 7-day round-trip adventure to Maggie Valley / Cherokee, North Carolina. What a wonderful group of people! We truly enjoyed having them here and wish them safe travels on the rest of their ride home.

Big shoutout to Chuck and Leslie with "Maggie Valley Rides" for staying a couple of nights with us while carving through these beautiful Appalachian backroads aboard one of the sharpest Harleys I’ve ever laid eyes on. Hearing that they’ve been riding together for 37 years is truly something special. That kind of road-tested love and adventure is rare and inspiring. It was an absolute pleasure meeting y’all and thanks for choosing us as your place to rest and recharge after a long day chasing mountain curves.

Two different crews. Same mission: twisty, switchback roads, mountain air, and a good place to park the bikes at the end of the day. We loved hosting these riders as they explored the Appalachian Backroads. From sport-touring machines to adventure bikes ready for every curve and climb, these guys came to ride the kind of roads that make you forget what day it is. Thanks for making us part of your Appalachian adventure. Safe travels, gentlemen, and we hope to see y’all again soon.

Another SOLD OUT weekend, and we couldn’t be more thankful! A special thank you to GPS Kevin and his wife Jane for bringing together a great group of riders from all across the country to take on the Kentucky Backways Adventure Trail. A 1,000-mile, 6-day loop through the mountains of southeastern Kentucky featuring paved backroads and gravel/dirt trails made for dual sport bikes. We’re honored y’all chose us as the starting and ending point for your adventure. Thank you for staying with us, and we hope the backroads bring you this way again soon!

It’s finally time!

Splash in the Park Waterpark opens for the season on Saturday, May 23, and we can’t wait to see everyone Memorial Day weekend!
Come cool off, make a splash, and enjoy some fun in the sun at Breaks Interstate Park.
Opening weekend hours:

A 2026 Park Pass is a great way to save this summer. For $50 per family, your pass covers your parking fees for the 2026 season and gives pass holders $2 off waterpark admission for both youth and adult swimmers each time you visit. In addition, pass holders receive 10% off food from the restaurant, waterpark concession stand, and all merchandise.

Park Passes are available online at breakspark.com/parkpass or in person at the Chafin Lodge front desk.

Our great neighbors of Elkhorn City, Kentucky (only 10 minutes down the mountain from us) are hosting the 2026 Apple Blossom Festival this weekend! 🍎🌸 Join the fun May 14th, 15th, and 16th on Main Street for a weekend full of family-friendly activities, carnival rides, inflatables, food & craft vendors, live music every night, and more! Be sure to catch the parade on Saturday at 12:00 PM and enjoy the co****le tournament and all the excitement happening throughout town.

There’s something inspiring about meeting cyclists from all over the world as they pedal their way across America on the legendary TransAmerica Trail. We’re proud that our motel is located right along the TransAmerica Trail route and we're honored to be a small part of these incredible coast to coast journeys. We love hearing the stories, adventures, and memories they collect along the way. To all the cyclist making the trek across the United States: ride safe, enjoy the journey, and know there’s always a warm welcome waiting for you here.

Another busy weekend is in the books. Huge thanks to Kendall from Iowa for staying with us during his Appalachian Backroads adventure. He's meeting up with friends to tackle the “Head of the Dragon” today and the legendary “Back of the Dragon” tomorrow. This morning, I pointed him toward Elkhorn City so he could experience the twists and scenery of the “High Narz,” then led him up to Breaks Interstate Park to take in the breathtaking views of the “Grand Canyon of the South.” Safe travels, my friend. Ride safe, enjoy every mile, and we hope the road brings you back our way again soon!

So grateful for another sold-out weekend! A big part of that was this awesome group of guys from South Carolina who stayed with us for three nights and rode over 200 miles each day, exploring the Appalachian backroads of Virginia, Kentucky, and West Virginia. It was a pleasure meeting y’all and we hope to welcome you back again soon. #
