From guest... to dear friend. ❤️

One of the greatest gifts of hosting Maison de Lionne is the incredible people it brings into my life. What started as an Airbnb stay turned into a beautiful friendship with this amazingly talented model and actress.

She recently walked the red carpet carrying a one-of-a-kind purse I created, and she also spent time modeling my vintage clothing collection throughout my historic home and gardens. Seeing my art travel beyond Louisiana and onto the red carpet reminds me that creativity has no boundaries.

This is exactly the kind of inspiring, talented, worldly energy that finds its way to Maison de Lionne. While some people choose small-town gossip and negativity, I choose art, friendship, creativity, and dreaming bigger.

Thank you for taking a little piece of my work with you and sharing it with the world. I couldn't be prouder. Here's to surrounding ourselves with people who lift each other up instead of tear each other down. ❤️✨

This little corner of Maison de Lionne is my favorite selfie spot. 💕✨

Every painting, every colorful detail, every creative touch you see here was built from a dream and a whole lot of determination. I created this little paradise on my own, even when there wasn't much local support. That just makes it even more meaningful to me.

I'd love for every guest who visits Maison de Lionne to stop here, snap a selfie in front of the painting I created years ago, and share it! It would make me so happy to see this space become part of your memories too.

Another wonderful group checked out this morning after celebrating a 40th birthday weekend! 🎉 Take me back to 40 please! They headed off to reservations at Little Big Cup, so I guess the birthday cake was left behind… and honestly, cake for breakfast doesn’t sound like a bad idea. 🍰☀️

The sweetest part was waking up to an Airbnb message and this note saying my house was even more beautiful in person. They loved every detail of the decor. Moments like this truly make all the hard work worth it. 💛

A few weeks ago my neutered male cat Cleo somehow became part of a full small-town circus after a neighbor decided to give my cat away to someone else.😭Then came the 2 cop car es**rt to bring him back home like we were dealing with a major criminal investigation!!

Meanwhile I’m the responsible pet owner actually getting abandoned stray animals neutered, but somehow ended up feeling like the criminal in the situation. Treated like a piece of S@@@! Apparently rescued cat leash laws are a top priority around here!!! That's only the tip of the iceberg! If you only knew the rest!! 5 years of bu****it! ****it

Get out of your little box.
Talk to people different from you. Go places that challenge your perspective. Be open to new experiences, cultures, lifestyles, and ideas. The world gets a whole lot bigger — and more beautiful — when you stop judging everything unfamiliar.

Love your neighbor, even if they don’t look like you, think like you, or live like you. Some of the best connections and life-changing moments come from the people you never expected to understand. ✨

Despite being in a small town, I’ve been lucky enough to attract creative, worldly people into my home — exactly the kind of energy I’ve always hoped to bring into my life. My goal has always been to connect with like-minded people passing through on their journeys, even if it’s just for one night. Along the way, I’ve built friendships and helped create memorable experiences that stay with people long after they leave.

My most recent guest was traveling from South Florida to Austin, Texas with her sweet dog. She had lived in Hawaii and spent years traveling the world while working with and caring for exotic animals. She didn’t even own a phone until 2021 and recently earned her license in sound healing therapy. It’s amazing how people with such unique stories somehow find their way through my door.
