Winter '18 Update on Parking, Trash, Snow Removal & Hot Tubs:

As we move into the busiest weeks of the winter season, a few reminders/clarifications for our guests.

Vehicles must be moved within 24 hours of measurable snowfall for snow removal. The lot is plowed when there is 3” or more of snow. Depending on the timing of a storm, the plowing does not necessarily always happen first thing in the morning.

There will be snowpack on the lot during the winter months. Even with plowing, there is a certain amount of snowpack that will remain on the lot. This is normal, and to be expected. This means that the snowpack will freeze and thaw, some areas will be bumpy, and areas can be slippery. It is important to drive and walk with caution around the property during the snowy winter months. During heavy snowfall years, the Board often chooses to bring in heavy equipment at a certain point to scrape the lot.

There are areas of snow that are pushed back into the lawn to create more snow storage. As tempting as it may be to park in these plowed out lawn areas….it is actually not allowed. The area near the entrance by the mailboxes has been coned off where parking in the lawn has been a problem. Please see the attached picture for reference.

Anthony shovels the property any time there is measurable snow. During a heavy snowfall, it is not possible to keep up with snow removal 24 hours per day. There will be snow accumulation on sidewalks at times.

The goal is always to open up the lot and sidewalks as quickly as possible after snow. In the days after a storm, additional clean up will continue around the property.

VSN does not have assigned parking. During the extremely busy holiday weeks, areas of the parking lot will be full and you may be unable to park immediately in front of your unit (particularly by the 9-plex buildings 12-19).

Dumpsters

Trash needs to be put inside of the dumpsters rather than thrown over the wall of the dumpster enclosure. There are times the metal dumpster doors will freeze/stick. Anthony does his best to loosen these in the mornings. Waste Management will be on an adjusted pick up schedule during the holidays. If a dumpster near your unit is full, there are other dumpsters on the property that can be utilized.

Hot Tubs

The hot tub hours are 10am-10pm. Anthony locks the hot tubs at 10:00pm. If residents or tenants try to jump the fence to get into the hot tub, this is considered trespassing & the Sheriff's office can be contacted.

Both hot tubs are facing significant mechanical issues. We have been doing our best to get the issues repaired and keep the hot tubs operational. As a reminder, both hot tubs are slated to be replaced in 2019. There is no smoking of any kind allowed in the hot tub areas.

Please ensure all occupants of your unit are aware of the issues we face in a high altitude environment during the winter months! Thank you, and Happy Holidays to you all!!

This storm hasn't accounted for big snow in the mountains, but temperatures are expected to be cold through the week, making for good snowmaking conditions.
