Pat from our Maintenance team is sharing his favorite beginner-friendly Colorado 14ers to hike near Breckenridge this summer.

His top picks include Mount Sherman, Quandary Peak, Mount Bierstadt, Huron Peak, Mount Massive, and Mount Shavano & Tabeguache Peak with plenty of summit views, mining ruins, ridge walks, and even mountain goat sightings along the way.

Pat’s advice for first-time 14er hikers: start early, bring layers, stay hydrated, and enjoy the experience at your own pace.
