This calendar looks spectacular!!

Earlier this month, we were out on a workshop and heading towards another location. I was in the lead car and driving by this scene. I saw the light and decided to quickly stop. I jumped out to ask the other team members if they wanted capture some photos here. But of course it was just too good to pass up, and the workshop participants in their cars were already getting ready to capture the scene.

This is one of the those road-side attractions that you can pass by a hundred times and not even notice, but when the light is just right, it's just right. The mountain in the distance is Wilson Peak.

𝑨𝙡𝒐𝙣𝒈 𝒕𝙝𝒆 𝑶𝙡𝒅 𝑭𝙚𝒏𝙘𝒆

The smoke from the huge Canadian forest fires has moved away. On our first haze-free day, the sky happened to be clear so I opted to go out for another night photo. The gardens at my favorite New Hampshire farm museum are in full bloom right now, so it was an easy decision to head up north one more time.

I’ve photographed the night sky over these gardens several times, always looking for a way to highlight the beauty of the place. I settled on the back side of the garden, with the timeworn farmer fence framing the gardens and pretty sunflowers and beebalm overlapping the fence for a pastoral ambiance.

I photographed the foreground at twilight using friendlier camera settings to avoid motion on the flora, and took the photo of the sky and Milky Way later after twilight had ended.
