John and Craig discuss how the foundation got started and the incredible mission that drives its work. Through Friends Of The Forgotten, disabled adults travel to developing countries to mentor and encourage disabled children, helping them build confidence, discover their potential, and live full, meaningful lives. They also provide seminars and training for the caregivers, teachers, and community leaders who work with these children every day, helping create lasting support long after the visits are over.
As residents of the Breese and Trenton areas, John and Craig also give a well-deserved shout-out to the communities that helped shape them. We’re proud to see local folks representing Clinton County and making an impact while sharing their story on a regional stage.

This morning, Craig Spihlman and I joined Ty Hawkins on Fox 2's Hawk's Nest to share the mission of Friends of the Forgotten. Catch it again Sunday at 3 PM on Fox 2 STL and the Fox 2 STL+ app.
As founder, I'm asked often why this model works. The answer is simple: disabled adults connecting with disabled children living in poverty and isolation around the world aren't just doing charity — they're doing ministry. Both have gifts to give. Both have gifts to receive. Together, longing becomes belonging.
The world is bigger than we think. So is our responsibility to it.
