McCurdy Pond in early winter before the lake freezes over is particularly beautiful. We continue to accept bookings into December before finally closing down for the season. Guests warm themselves before the living room gas fireplace and enjoy the beauty of Maine without the crush of the tourist season.

Canoeing on McCurdy Pond. It's about one mile from on end to the other and has a maximum depth of a little over 40 feet. Too small for power boats but perfect for kayaking and canoeing and perfect for swimming. The spring fed pond is among the cleanest in the region.

Here are a few images of a loon with her chick taken last month near our cottages on McCurdy Pond by one of our guests. Loons return here every season and are still hanging out now in early October. They head for the sea during the winter months and return again in the Spring. We love hearing their distinct calls echoing across the water and watching their antics off the deck.
