Camp Happy Hollow

Camp Happy Hollow Camp Happy Hollow is a non profit camping and outdoor recreation facility. Camp Happy Hollow is near Brenham and offers both tent and lodge camping.

It is a well maintained primitive camping facility in collaboration with the Washington County Youth Assoc. Possible use for large events. Property has 17 units for tent pitching with a covered shelter w/electric and water, and fire circle. Central Lodge for meeting or programs w/ 3 toilets, kitchen w/ refrigerator, stove, microwave, sink. A Bath House w/10 showers. A Senior Hut that sleeps 11 w/ 1 restroom. A covered pavilion w/ 2 toilets. Also has an amphitheatre. Capacity: 350-400

Damages caused by storms prevent the camp from being used at this time. We have contracted a crew to come out to clear away storm debris and repair the structures. We will continue to update you on Camp Happy Hollow's status.

02/27/2021

Camp Happy Hollow will remain closed for day use and overnight camping. The Board will review the conditions concerning the Covid-19 Pandemic and the state of facilities at the end of September 2021. At that time a decision will be made as to whether or not Happy Hollow can accommodate scouts once again.

The Camp Board of Directors has decided to keep Camp Happy Hollow closed through the end of the year. In February 2021 the Board will evaluate the conditions and look again at possibly opening Happy Hollow for camping and outdoor activities. Should health and safety conditions change significantly, an opening date could be adjusted.

May 1st Update:
A decision has been made as to the Camp’s way forward. Through the end of the spring season and through the summer Camp Happy Hollow will remain closed. In September 2020 the Board will again evaluate the conditions and look again at possibly opening Happy Hollow for camping and outdoor activities. Should health and safety conditions change significantly an opening date could be adjusted.

03/19/2020

In concern for our campers and in support of national and local Scouting organizations, Camp Happy Hollow closed on March 13, 2020 at 7:00 pm. The Camp has joined the effort to contain the spread of COVID-19. It is prudent to stand in support of families, the school districts in Washington County and the Central Texas Council. In that spirit, the Camp made the decision to cancel all the activities and events scheduled through the end of April. Camp fees will be returned within 30 days. At that time the Camp will assess the status of future events based on how the situation unfolds going forward. We will continue to take under advisement local and national guidance as well as the concerns of the Camp Board and Volunteers. A change in decision on the Camp’s status will be made at a later date. The Camp Board and Volunteers remain dedicated to the safety and health all who camp, visit and enjoy the natural beauty of the Camp. We thank you for your understanding during these unprecedented circumstances in order to help contain the spread of the coronavirus.
