The Bromfield House on East Main Street -- a beautiful example of stonework built in 1926-- was built by early industrialist James Bromfield.

Bromfield had a laundry, coal, heating oil, and ice company all located near the railroad depot in the early booming days of Transylvania County.

North Carolina’s Asheville "No-Hike" Waterfalls Road Trip takes you across Western NC to 12 stunning waterfalls, all easily accessible with no long hikes and just 330 miles of scenic driving. You’ll visit Whitewater Falls, the tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi at 811 feet, with powerful, tiered cascades crashing down a mountain gorge. At Dry Falls, you can walk behind a 65-foot sheet of water without getting wet. Nearby, Bridal Veil Falls flows gently over the road itself and you can walk right beneath it. The Apollo Lyre Guitar, dating from around 1810 and crafted in London, is a striking example of early 19th-century musical innovation.

What a remarkable piece of musical history to showcase and include this summer while enjoying all that the Brevard Music Center has to offer.
