2023. This one was epic - turning 50 is a big milestone. Some people fight it with products and procedures, some don’t reveal their true age, some get depressed, some make big purchases….I wanted to OWN 50. When I thought about my intention for the year, I considered, “Go for it,” “Just say, ‘YES’” and others and settled on, “Great expectations.” Great expectations for God - living in the movement with gratitude, rather than focusing on the “what if’s,” great expectations for life - travel, adventure, unabashed JOY, and great expectations for myself - to level up, be kinder and do better. I can honestly say that 2023 just may have been the BEST year of my life. Loads of travel - England (3x for me), Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Hawaii, Canada, Washington, Alaska, Scotland (x2 for me), Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Albania, Greece and Turkey. Parker started flight school and obtained his private license, instrument rating and commercial pilot licenses. I took an epic birthday to the UK with my pops and two of my siblings and celebrated my birthday with a fiesta at solitude, courtesy of my amazing sister in law and so many dear friends. I learned to tap dance (ish), improved my español, read, journaled, prayed and meditated. And God blessed our family beyond measure. I am so grateful! 2022 was BRUTAL - my dad went through three unexpected surgeries, sepsis, serotonin syndrome and flatlined twice. My mom threw her back out and had surgery. I had surgery. We sold our house and moved. I lost friends to horrible diseases. I cried more tears than I thought possible. Our marriage was hanging by a thread. So whether you had an amazing head or a brutally difficult one, hang on…it will change. It always does. Happy New Year, my friends. Let’s make it a good one. My intention this year - BACK TO THE BASICS. Because I’m super duper grateful, but also really, really tired. 😅
