It was built in 1808 by William Bradford III, grandson of Deputy Governor William Bradford. The younger William was a sea captain and ship owner who went away for long periods. He built the house on land deeded in his wife's name by her fathe

Fantastic review on TripAdvisor from recent guests. We love what we do and are blessed to meet such wonderful people.

“My Husband and I had the pleasure of staying for 4 glorious nights this past weekend.

Considering the monkey wrench that COVID has thrown into everything - we were uncertain of what to expect.

Some how - Liz and Doug have managed to make their guests feel like family and completely safe at the entire time.

We stayed in Blithewolde Room which had just been renovated and it was glorious. The charm of the room was not lost on the renovations and the giant 4 poster bed was so comfortable.

While the property itself is incredibly beautiful - the home Cooked breakfasts Served daily were nothing short of fantastic.

Every breakfast starts with fresh fruit (differed
Daily) and was followed up with a homemade breakfast entree that Was consistently our favorite meal of the day. Liz cooked up everything from delicious quiches to home baked Portuguese sweet bread bakes. The jams were homemade as were the breakfast rolls and we easily could’ve survived on those alone.

Doug and Liz are incredibly Welcoming and put so much thought and consideration into the Inn as well as the breakfasts.

At a time when everything has become so impersonal - they’ve managed to keep the personal
Touch without sacrificing health and safety at WGI.

We are sad to head back home but already discussing our next visit.”
