Ever wonder why our Broken Bow cabin is called Wooglin?

For our family, the name carries deep meaning and a long history with Beta Theta Pi.

In Beta lore, Wooglin is the mythical dragon — the fabled guardian first referenced in the fraternity’s 1881 catalog. He stands watch over the altar, symbolizing the guiding spirit, loyalty, and lifelong brotherhood that define Beta Theta Pi.

To us, Wooglin represents more than tradition.
He represents protection.
He represents friendship that lasts decades.
He represents gathering together — generation after generation.

When we purchased our cabin in Broken Bow, we wanted a name that reflected strength, legacy, and the spirit of always looking out for one another. “Wooglin” felt perfect.

May this cabin guard laughter around the firepit, stories on the porch, fishing memories on the lake, and the spirit of brotherhood and family for years to come.
