SCOPE
Assists room attendants on assigned floors and cleans public and or other areas in a timely and organized manner to ensure hotel cleanliness standards are met and guests are satisfied.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists room attendants with heavy items such as mattresses and soiled linens. Delivers linens and necessary supplies to room attendants, emptying of room attendant’s trash and linen bags, removing rollaway/cribs and putting them in rooms.
Shampoos carpets, strips and waxes floors throughout the hotel. Vacuums corridors, puts linen down chute and takes trash to dock, keeps linen closets stocked, sweeps/mops service landings and vending machine areas, cleans vending machines, ashtrays, glass top tables, etc.
Cleans designated areas such as lobby, public restrooms, and public areas and back of house areas on hotel property.
Receives keys and daily assignment on time each morning by the Supervisor on duty.
Always signs keys in and out with authorized Supervisor.
Supports confidentiality as it relates to the staff and the department.
Always projects a positive attitude and be supportive of the hotel and the Housekeeping Dept.
Reports needed repairs according to procedures to supervisor and/or maintenance.
Responds to housekeeping requests from guests or management in a timely and efficient manner.
Keeps linen room’s locked and linen cart neat and organized according to standards.
Reports and turns in lost and found articles to supervisor.
Ensures there is minimal waste of products and materials.
Picks up debris from corridors and service areas throughout the day. Dusts and wipes down all fire doors, alarms and extinguishers along the way.
Inspects all corridors and service area for cleanliness standards.
Gets work orders from Inspectors to clean carpets in rooms
Handle supplies/equipment with care.
Know, understand, and support the rules and regulations outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Know, understand, and support all principles of the hotel by obtaining and using surnames, acknowledging return guests and thanking them sincerely for their patronage.
Helps conserve energy by using only equipment needed during meal periods, turning such equipment off before or after peak periods.
At end of shift, checks all equipment to make sure everything has been turned off.
Assists in receiving and storing all new supplies and equipment.
Must have regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with hotel rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel’s facilities. Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per hotel standards. Arrive to work in proper uniform.
You must finish all your duties on time and cannot work more than your scheduled shift without prior manager or supervisor’s approval.
Complete other duties related to the hotel as assigned.
Qualifications
Other: Must be able to lift 50 lbs. + and climb stairs. 20/20 vision with or w/o aides.
Must be in good health and able to stand, walk and bend for extended periods; have the physical stamina to be able to follow and carry out instructions efficiently, be able to work with housekeeping chemicals.
