FYI -if you see smoke west of Paulding and the resort tomorrow it could be from a Ottawa National Forest prescribed burn. Here's the information

*The burn was cancelled for today - May 22*
If weather conditions are favorable, Ottawa National Forest fire personnel intend to burn both 6950 Rx Units A ( 11-acres ) and B ( 6-acres ) on Friday, May 22, 2026. These two units are located roughly 6 miles west of Paulding, MI. off Forest Road 6950 and north of Sleepy Hollow Road. Wildlife openings, such as these are primarily made up of grass and small shrubs. Smoke will be present for a short duration of time in the immediate area and drifting to the north and northwest. Signs will be posted along the road system.

Our good friends Brian and Julie who are up here at the resort for trout opener had a hysterical encounter with this grouse! It first started when the grouse flew into their truck window, they stopped and got out of the truck to check on the grouse, it was alive but acting a little weird like following them around as they got back in the truck. They drove off and as you can see the grouse chased them down the road 🤣

Our dear friends/guests Aaron and Jenny came across these two beautiful moose today while out on their daily adventure!! How lucky for them!! They've been hoping to see a moose for years and today was the day! We've had 3 moose come through the resort property over the years. You never know what you'll see in the U.P.

Went to Victoria today to see the water come over the dam, spectacular as always!! Love the roar of the water!
