My family and I are safe, and for that, I’m deeply grateful. But my heart aches for those facing unimaginable challenges right now. Life here in our mountains feels far from normal, and the road ahead is uncertain for so many. Still, I have faith—faith in our community, in our neighborhoods, and in the strength of our towns. We’ve always come together when it matters most, and I believe that hope will rise as we support each other and rebuild.
With everything happening, it’s hard to think about finding moments of peace. As much as I’ve considered pausing my events, this little business is my livelihood. Many events have canceled or rescheduled, and while it feels small compared to what others are facing, it’s been a stressful time. Like all of us, I’m just trying to breathe through it, be there for my family and neighbors, and keep moving forward. Each of our struggles are real, and the unknown is challenging, but we have to keep Living, Creating, and Supporting one another.
Now, more than ever, small businesses need our communities. If you feel like you could use a peaceful escape, I invite you to join me this Tuesday at Mountain Layers Brewery in Bryson City and Thursday at the Assembly on Main. We will create something beautiful together, take a moment to breathe, and find some calm in the chaos.
