You can either relax on the beautiful front porch and enjoy the flora and fauna, or you can walk about 10 minutes to pristine waterfalls, hiking, fishing or tubing down Deep Creek. Or take a short ride and help celebrate 75 years of one of the most beautiful scenic drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Nearby Bryson City is home to the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, arts and crafts galleries, antique shops and a surprising variety of restaurants for a small mountain town. Just down the road you’ll find rafting on the Nantahala River, zip line your way through the Gorge, mountain biking Tsali trails, fishing and boating on Fontana Lake, hiking any of the miles of trails in the Smokies, and great scenic drives like the Blue Ridge Parkway, Cherohala Skyway or Tail of the Dragon. For your complimentary three-course breakfast enjoy dark organic coffee starting with homemade sweet breads and fresh fruit then onto the main course consisting of specialties such as sweet potato hash with poached eggs, sausage and candied bacon, lemon soufflé pancakes with warm blueberry compote, and omelets with fresh herbs and vegetables from our organic garden. Juice, coffee and tea are also served. We take pride in our bountiful gourmet breakfasts. We use farm fresh eggs, dairy, house-cured and smoked breakfast meats. Toni’s homemade jams are made from local fruits and are guests’ favorites. A light breakfast is available with advance notice. Coffee is ready at 7:30 am. Breakfast is served at 9:00 am unless otherwise notified. The Folkestone Inn is one hour west of Asheville, just three hours from Atlanta and Charlotte, and two hours from Greenville, Knoxville and Chattanooga.
