The Van Wicklen family wants to thank all our amazing vacation guests we’ve catered to, over the years at Crossman Cabin. We sold this precious place last week. However, we are working on a new project that I will share soon right here! (Well it will have its own IG acct but stay tuned here for the announcement)
If the cabin buyers decide to keep as a VRBO, I will let you know also. We sold it furnished so it will still feel cozy! I’m sure they’ll update with more amazing touches too. 🏔️

Wanting a Thanksgiving getaway in the mountains, one that is also PET FRIENDLY?
We have dates open! Monarch Mountain Ski Resort is a close 45 mins away and Breckenridge an ez day trip away too, from our cabin. (please check their sites for opening dates, etc. but they usually all open on Thanksgiving) Dog Sled Rides are a family favorite too!!(Monarch Dog Sledding):

Happy Halloween! As a tribute to today and Salida's sometimes spooky history, we'll be getting to the bottom one of town's most fascinating local legends. Was the old Amicas building on second street haunted? With its history of hospice care, it's no surprise that our old location was frequently called a "hot spot" of spirits by energy readers that would stop in for a bite. One of the most common unexplained occurrences to affect both staff and guests was seeing a cowboy behind the bar. There could be several sightings a week, with guests certain that there had just been an ethereal cowboy in full western garb across the room from them. It wasn't just that. Our owner Michael would frequently be in early mornings prep cooking only to find things unexpectedly moved around, feeling strange energy and even hearing odd sounds. It was enough to be unsettling. One day, he very politely asked whatever force was in the building to leave them alone, and that the space could be shared between all parties. After that, there were no further instances.
