Here's a sneak peek at what we'll be able to see from the museum's rooftop at Friday's Twilight at the Museum: Shine On, courtesy of Stellarium! That is, of course, if the clouds are on their best behavior.
This all‑ages rooftop night begins with a spring sunset, then Venus shining brightly in the west. Around 9 p.m., a golden full moon will rise through the city haze, and Jupiter will be visible all night with three of its brightest moons in view. Once the full moon is high it might even cast your shadow!
Our friends from Buffalo Astronomical Association (BAA) will bring telescopes and join BMS to guide you through the night sky.
In the event of rain, activities and telescopes will move inside for indoor twilight talks, and all four floors of the museum will be open!
Can't make this Friday? Our next two Twilight at the Museum events are scheduled for August 21 and September 18, and tickets are already on sale. But don't delay - these tickets are limited and sell QUICKLY!
