Wrapped up our week serving as volunteers as Parking Attendants for the Twin Cities Annual Canal Fest. I want to thank the 19 volunteers who donated their time in support of this community event. We all braved the summer heat to support the Canal Fest. I am proud of our Lodge for its total commitment in this and the hard work put in by the many members with the addition of some family members.

Calling all Ken-ton Elks Lodge #1942 members, we need your help. We have volunteered our services as Parking Lot Attendants during the Canal Fest at Gratwick Park. We have served for two days thus far, earning a decent amount of money towards our finances. We are asking if you could donate some of your time serving with us these next few days, leading up to the final three days with closing on Sunday. Please give it some thought, we sure could use your help, even if it is just for a few hours. Remaining schedule is Thurs and Fri 3pm to 4pm, Sat 11am -9pm and Sunday 10am-9pm. Please give this some thought. We sure could use some more help, especially heading into the final days of Canal Fest. All you have to do is show up, you may want to bring a chair and cooler with you. (ER) Andy Maess

Today we celebrate the courage that shaped a nation and the freedoms that continue to define it. Happy 250th Independence Day! Hope you are all enjoying the anniversary of our country. May the values of freedom, equality, and democracy continue to light the path for generations to come.

From Our ER:

For all our members who have lost loved ones
these past two months, you have our deepest
sympathies and condolences. Our thoughts and
are with you always.

As we continue to implement changes we feel are
necessary to our Lodge, I remain confident we are
heading into the right direction. There still is a lot
of work to do, however, I am optimistic that these
changes will make us stronger.

Don't forget our "Patio Party" Series as we welcome
"Slim Chance" to our Patio July 17, and a "60's
Night" July 31, and the "Party Hounds" Aug.21.
We had a great turnout for "Rockin Robin" as it was
great to see everyone come out and enjoy
themselves.

I will be heading to the Grand Lodge Convention
Jul. 4 and returning Jul. 8. I will be attending with
an open mind and hoping to bring back ideas to
help our Lodge become more efficient in the way
we approach the BPOE guidelines.

We will conduct the July meetings of the House/
Trustees along with the Regular meeting Jul 13.
For August, The House/Trustees Meeting will be
Aug. 3 with the regular meeting on Aug.10.

We are still looking for volunteers for Parking
Attendants for Canal Fest Jul.19 to Jul.26. I want to
thank the nine people who have volunteered their
time. It would be a fun time to spend together while
making additional funds for our Lodge.

I hope everyone has a fun, wonderful Fourth of July.
Be safe! (ER) Andy Maess
