I was the host at Loggers Lake in 2018, and nobody else has taken over this page since then.
All reservations are made through Recreation.gov now, so please book through there.
I did camp there with the family this year (2022) and it's a magical as always. There is a campground host, but no vendor services. There is cell phone service in Bunker now, but none at the campground.

We're here to help you dream up your next trip, figure out the details, and reserve experiences at over 3,600 facilities and 103,000 individual sites across the country.

Since I've apparently shamed everyone into picking up their trash down at the lake, I decided to do a different kind of trash shaming today.

I've always maintained the road from the host site down to the lake, but I've been seeing some trash on the opposite side of the host site, so I decided to clean it up this morning. It's just two tenths of a mile, but I picked up 34 cans, 17 glass bottles, and a good amount of this-and-that.

SHAME, SHAME!

I haven't been doing trash shaming for a few weeks because there hasn't been any trash left behind.

Those darn beavers cut one of the persimmon trees down! Beavers are jerks!

We only had one visitor over the weekend, and his name was Gordon! He left behind three and a half inches of rain, but the good news is there was no trash to clean up.

There's a lot happening in the woods this time of year. The persimmons at the lake are nearly ripe, and the hickory nuts and walnuts are starting to drop. It's a great time to gather the family and explore all that our beautiful state has to offer.

We had a really nice group this weekend at the lake. Trash clean-up was very minimal, most coming out of one fire pit. I picked up a total of 50 cigarette butts, but half of those look to be old ones that got washed up after the heavy rains last week.

We did have quite an ordeal with red wasps that had built nests inside the frames of some of the old picnic tables. Several campers got stung, but they were good sports about it, and we are getting all of the frames plugged to prevent further problems.

The campground will stay open until November 1st, so if you're interested in camping and want to check availability, message me here on Facebook.
