The Waterfall House: Finally got around to replicating a shot the other day that serves as the open to the Hallmark Channel’s Aurora Teagarden Mysteries. Montour Falls, NY and beautiful Shequaga Falls there is the first image one sees in the open of the movie series. And while most of the filming occurs in British Columbia, it’s this Finger Lakes Region treasure that is the first image of the fictional town in the movies. According to the Observer-Review, the production team stumbled upon a stock photo of Montour Falls during an internet search and felt it was ideal to represent the make believe town at the epicenter of the movie series. Of all the waterfalls in the region that I visit, this is one of my very favorite with some really interesting stories attached to it.

A Great Picture of the Falls!

That Friday Feeling: One of the finest views in the Finger Lakes Region is the one at the Lakeside Resort just north of Watkins Glen along Seneca Lake. One gets a direct view of the enormous Hector Falls—a massive cascade of beauty on the east side of this lake. Captured this yesterday there, hope you all have a terrific weekend!
