19 months after Helene, The Log Cabin on Neil’s Creek is once again welcoming guests! The silver lining of the storm; all the nutrients from the forest floor that were swept to the cabin have gifted us hundreds of wildflowers! And, we have a nesting mama. 😊

We are exhausted.
Stress zaps you physically, mentally and emotionally. Among so many other things, we have to muck out our crawlspace and it’s a daunting task. It’s dark, cold and dingy. It’s only about 36” tall and has who knows how many critters. It’s filled with wet sand and mud. But as I sit and sulk, I am reminded that we are SO very lucky that we still have a home that has a crawlspace that needs to be mucked out. We might not have power, water or a road, but our little cabin on the creek made it. And for that, I’m so incredibly grateful. ❤️

Did you know that there is a Blue Ghost Firefly habitat near the cabin? If you book the cabin late May through the 1st week of June, we will take you to see these rare and magical little creatures!

Did you know that the rare, Blue Ghost Fireflies are visible near the cabin? Book a stay during the Blue Ghost season and we will take a walk with you in search of them! They are normally make their spectacular show the end of May into the first week of June.

These insects emit a glow a yellow-green hue.
