The Wellville Development design team is honored to share they took home the gold last evening for Bath Design of our model unit casita. Unwind in this luxury destination spa, every day instead, in your own home. Typical rituals that would normally occur in this room at dawn and dusk are transformed to inspire pause and reflection.
A smoked black glass box, room within the room, houses gold fittings, a lavish marble wall and bench contrasted with clean matte black sheets of porcelain. The personal sauna provides for a steamy experience. Monolithic forms of golden alabaster rest upon the simply elegant custom colored concrete floor. The slightly scooped vessels, while still functional, provide a stereotomic weight to the room that is also ephemerally grounding to the individual standing before it.
A tailored minimal mirror rests intentionally above only one sink and the vanity area suggests the other for contemplation. The extreme canted black edged ceilings encourage natural light to cascade down into the space below. Upon day’s end, the intentionally dimmed lighting provides only accents in key areas throughout the space highlighting only what is intended for ultimate relaxation.
The space extends from the inside out where additional bathing experiences await. A more primitive nod awaits via the outdoor shower while the hand cast tub encourages soaking while stargazing. Somehow, time seems to extend in this space trickling throughout the home.
