Two weeks into overnight camping and here we go again. Fire ban has been issued by Nebraska Governor Pillen statewide, including Oliver Reservoir until at least March 27, 2026. This means no open fires are allowed not only at Oliver Reservoir, but across the State of Nebraska. A link to the Governors information is posted below. The results can also be accessed from the South Platte Natural Resources District website, spnrd.org. It's located on the home page as well as on the Oliver web page. Included in this report is our Oliver operating budget for fiscal year July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025 as well as the Nebraska Game and Parks fish stocking report. The results from the survey will be given to the South Platte NRD board of directors at its regularly scheduled public meeting beginning at 5:00 pm March 10th, 2026 at the South Platte NRD office located at 551 Parkland Drive, Sidney, Nebraska. ***Burn Ban Update*** Nebraska Governor Pillen has lifted the burn ban that was in place for portions of the state. The burn ban is no longer in effect and open fires are allowed again at Oliver Reservoir Recreation Area. If any questions or concerns please contact the South Platte Natural Resources at 308-254-2377.

Governor Pillen has extended the burn ban for the area of Nebraska including all of the South Platte Natural Resources District including Oliver Reservoir until at least May 20th. Questions regarding the burn ban for Oliver Reservoir can be directed to the South Platte Natural Resources District offices at 308-254-2377. The office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00-12:00 and 1:00-5:00. ***NOTE*** this page will not be monitored until Monday morning at 8:00 AM.

Burn Ban Update - The Governors burn ban is set to run up to midnight this Saturday, May 10th. With it being the weekend and the possibility of not seeing any extension or lifting of the ban, we are continuing the ban through at least Monday, May 12th. We hope to have direction from the Governors office or the local fire chiefs by the end of the workday on Monday. This means that the fire ban at Oliver Reservoir is in place until at least the end of day on Monday, May 12th and no open fires are allowed, even in the fire pits. Any questions please contact the South Platte NRD at 308-254-2377.

Burn Ban Update---Governor Pillen has extended the burn ban in the western half of Nebraska until at least May 10th. This means no open fires at Oliver Reservoir until at least May 10th. We will update as soon as we know any other information.

Governor Pillen issues statewide burn ban. This includes Oliver Reservoir Recreation Area. The burn ban is in place until at least April 30th, 2025.
