Butte is an incredible, centrally located hub for world-class fly fishing in Southwest Montana. Within a 30- to 60-minute drive, you have access to some of the finest blue-ribbon trout streams in the country. 🎣

Famed Rivers Nearby
The Big Hole River: Flowing just south and west of Butte, this is a legendary free-stone mountain river renowned for trophy rainbow, brown, and brook trout, as well as native fluvial Arctic grayling.

The Beaverhead River: Located a bit further south (near Dillon), the Beaverhead is a challenging tailwater fishery famous for its high density of massive brown trout.

The Jefferson River: Formed by the convergence of the Big Hole and the Beaverhead, the "Jeff" offers excellent float-fishing opportunities for larger trout.

The Clark Fork River: The upper stretches of the Clark Fork originate right near Butte and offer excellent bank and float fishing as it heads west toward Missoula.

The Little Blackfoot River: A fantastic option if you prefer smaller, wade-friendly water with eager trout, located just north of Butte near Elliston.
