Hey all, everyone and everything at Tower Circle is good. The road washed out, but they should have it fixed sooner than later.

Anyway, here’s a couple seconds in my nephew’s world. He’s not worried about a thing haha.

if you’ve ever stayed with us, there’s a pretty good chance olivia had something to do with it.

reservations, messages, customer service and most of the stuff behind the scenes nobody ever sees. usually while being a mom at the same time.

caught her actually playing for a change..

shoutout to this hardworking (and occasionally playing) mama. tower circle wouldn’t be tower circle without her.

Field Notes from the Outer Banks

You just have to listen a little harder for it.

I remember my grandfather’s scruffy beard. His brother’s cigar smoke. Rotten fish baking in the back of a hot truck. And crying every time we had to leave Hatteras.

Years later, a hurricane swell changed something in me.

Now this is home—and I’m watching our kids grow up to the rhythm of the same tide.

Sometimes I wonder if I ever chose this place at all."

buxton looks a little different right now.

walked from the water back to tower circle just to put it in perspective.

long time obx people — when have you seen the water like this?

drop the village + year in the comments. i love hearing when people caught one of these days.

the gulf stream runs remarkably close to the outer banks and when the winds, currents and sediment all line up, our water can turn warm, clear and almost tropical.

today we swam, rainbow played, olivia caught a wave and for a little while the water looked like glass.

if you didn't know nc could look like this, now you do.

come spend a few days with us out here.

Buxton’s $50 Million Beach Project Sounds Insane… Until You See the Numbers.

A lot of people call beach nourishment “throwing money into the ocean.”

After looking at who is actually paying, how small the federal and state shares are relative to their budgets, and what this project protects, I’m not convinced that argument holds up.

So which side are you on: smart protection of Cape Hatteras National Seashore Buxton and NC 12, or $50 million thrown into the sea?
