Oh the places you will go… and the people you will meet. This is a long post, but I wanted to share it here since the Inn is magical in who it attracts and the timing of it all. 🪽😇🌄

Our new guests arrived and had a wonderful accent which instantly reminded me of the charm and charisma that accompanied my friend’s (Mark) lovely Irish accent.

Later that evening, when I saw these guests again, I asked where they were from originally. England was their response. I had told them that their accent reminded me of a dear friend (Mark) who had passed. We chatted on and we coincidentally had some things in common. Such as working for the same biotech company out of NY. To which I segwayed and mentioned that my friend Mark from Ireland actually worked at the company as well. I gave the guest his full name….

His eyes widened and he repeated the name and spelled the last name for confirmation. Turns out they had years of overlap and my guest was his mentor! 🤯 I was completely awe struck and overcome with emotion that I was thinking of Mark as soon as this guest entered the inn. Somehow, organically we started a conversation that led us to the same ‘Mark’! I couldn’t believe it!
After my emotions settled and I built up the courage to google Mark’s obituary, just when I thought the nights events couldn’t get any stranger… last night (when this convo occurred) was the 8 year anniversary of Mark’s passing. 😲

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the most rewarding part of innkeeping is meeting the most random or unlikely of guests and exchanging stories and similiarities. 🫶
