Here is a real video of one of our Thunder Mountain bears! Black bears in Arkansas are making a comeback after being hunted down to just 50 bears! Now there are thousands of bears after being reintroduced into the Ozark and Ouachita Mountains! They are typically non-aggressive and still a rare sight to see since they are timid and avoid humans. So we're always very excited to see them and hope more guests will get to see one! Book one of our remaining November stays before they hibernate! June and July of next year are already filling up too! So don't wait to plan your trip to Thunder Mountain! Cabin and camping options available.

Ok.. not a real bear. But it's fun to wonder what the bears will be up to on Thanksgiving while guests enjoy the cabin and property. Book your Thanksgiving stay now. The cabin is perfect for a small family or couple. Only one group is allowed at a time so you need to be first! November 24-28 is open. And don't worry, bears at Thunder Mountain are rare, timid, and have never caused any issues for our guests.

Thunder Mountain has placed in the top 10 or been a finalist almost every year since 2020! Why? Because Thunder Mountain is one of the only places that offers over 80 acres for guests to explore completely on their own! The unique outdoor bathhouse with outdoor shower and tub is a highlight that guests love. Four miles of private trails! A beautiful secluded river! Amazing views from all over the mountain.

Did you know that camping is an option at Thunder Mountain? Camping guests are only allowed between cabin guests - they never overlap. Campers have access to everything on the property (grills, bathhouse, kayaks, WiFi, electric, water, decks, etc.) - just not inside the cabin. This is a great way to experience Thunder Mountain at a lower price. Camping is usually only available for 1-2 nights. Sorry, children are not allowed. Camping dates are hard to find and fill up fast so message us to be placed on our wait-list!

Almost a mile of trails lead guests along both sides of our river. Many guests report seeing wildlife (fish, turtles, deer, raccoons, squirrels, birds) with a few seeing beavers, otters, and occasionally even black bears! (Don't worry, the bears here avoid humans and are not aggressive.)
