Baiting Hollow Scout Camp in Calverton kicked off its 100th anniversary celebration by honoring longtime staffer Steve Barile.

2026 is Baiting Hollow's Centennial Year. We kick off the celebration with the annual Alumni Dinner and the presentation of the Alumni Service Award. This year's recipient is Steve Barile. Steve has worked on the camp staff for over 20 years in various capacities. Outside of the summer months, Steve gives countless volunteer hours delivering program over the weekends, working on improvement projects, and helping to keep the grounds. Join us Saturday, January 3 from 1-5pm in the Dining Hall as we honor Steve for all that he has done for our camp and kick off the 100th Anniversary Celebration! All are welcome to attend. Santa has headed home to the north pole to get ready for his big day! He wanted to thank all the families that came out to visit him over the last two weekends. A big Baiting Hollow Thank You to all the elves who work so hard to make this such a great event!! Especially the elves. They got up extra early today. Make sure they arrived in the snow with plenty of time. Many of those elves are just now getting home to start shoveling themselves out.

From the Baiting Hollow Staff to all of our volunteers, Scouts, scouters and their families we wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving! We are thankful to have each of you as part of the Baiting Hollow family! Camp is closed today so that everyone can spend the day with friends and family enjiying a delicious meal! But starting this weekend we will be preparing for the arrival of Santa. Its the most wonderful time of the year! We look forward to seeing you and sharing santa with you. What an amazing action packed weekemd at Baiting Hollow! Haunted trail, cope day , cub shooting sports, climbing, camping and if that wasnt enough today they set the the footing for the next two pavillions being built. There are too many volunteers to list everyone that was involved in these activities. Its safe to say we are truly blessed to have so many dedicated and amazing volunters! Pictured below is Ron Fine and one of the many groups that were at Cub Scout Shooting soorts!

The 2025 Baiting Hollow Scout Camp staff. They have 2 more weeks to go but tonight we have our banquet and celebrate another amazing summer! As their Camp Director i couldnt be more proud of these men amd women who work so hard all summer bringing the Scout Handbook to Life!
