Capell House at Pebble Hill

Final preparations are underway. I love my shutters everyday but I love them just a little more when a storm is brewing. Stay safe everyone!

We’ve spent most of the day getting ready for the weather, charging every battery we can find, securing things around the property, and stocking up on food and supplies for both the humans and the four-legged residents.

At this point, we’re hoping the storm gives us a little mercy and passes through without causing too much trouble.

Most importantly, we’re praying everyone in the path of the storm stays safe. Please take the warnings seriously, check on your neighbors, bring your animals in or make sure they’re secure, and stay inside!
Jim, the rocking chair is ready. The coffee is hot. You know where to find us.

Stay safe, y’all.

A little rain never hurt a Pooh party!

Today we celebrated a very special little one’s first birthday at Capell House. The rain may have kept falling outside, but inside there was plenty of sunshine, laughter, good food, and sweet memories being made.

A cozy lunch of homemade tomato soup, crispy grilled cheese, including a honey-pot smash cake, cupcakes, cookies, and plenty of Winnie-the-Pooh sweetness.

Thank you for choosing Capell House to be part of such a special milestone. Rainy days have a way of making celebrations feel even cozier.

Some guests come for a night or two… and somehow leave feeling like old friends. Lauren and Ann were those guests!

My favorite part of this job is the people I meet, the stories that are shared, and those unexpected little connections that stay with you long after checkout.

Thank you for choosing Capell House and for leaving a little piece of your family’s sweetness behind. Y’all will always have a special place here. Oh, and butter pecan waffles with conecuh sausage for breakfast!

The donut recipe has been perfected! Nothing says good morning quite like a warm apple cinnamon donut…especially when you have a two cheese omelette and crispy bacon on the side.

A FEW SEATS REMAIN…

What if, for one evening, you could step inside Capell House as it might have felt 150 years ago?

On Thursday, October 22, I’m opening the doors for just 12 guests for:

Malvenia’s Table

A Culinary Journey Back in Time
I have refined the menu into a more intimate dinner experience with a welcome table, soup, supper, dessert and stories woven throughout the evening. It’s a dinner about history, hospitality, and the stories that survive inside an old house.

Only 12 seats. $60 per person.

And we are now down to just a few seats remaining.

If you’ve been thinking about coming, this is your nudge. Once those chairs are filled, the table is closed.

📍 Capell House at Pebble Hill
📅 Thursday, October 22
🕕 Doors open 5:45 | Dinner begins 6:15
🎟️ $60 per guest | Limited to 12

I have been cleaning the fence for two days and this was my view as I wrapped up this project and headed in. Gorgeous sunset. 🌅
