We’ve had the joy of celebrating so many milestones with this sweet family—from their wedding day, to their gender reveal, and now a darling “Silly Goose” baby shower.
The buffet was filled with made from scratch biscuits, sausage, egg, and cheese casserole, roasted breakfast potatoes, and the cookies(not sure who makes them but they are always delicious)were almost too pretty to eat (almost!), oh and one of our resident geese was kind enough to send her best with her signature expression. 🪿😆
It’s such a privilege to watch life’s happiest moments unfold and to welcome families back again and again as their stories grow.

Owning a bed and breakfast means wearing a lot of hats. Hostess, gardener, event planner, and chef.
This season also includes textbooks, food and nutrition coursework, and recipe development in between guest stays at Capell House. The learning never stops in a professional kitchen, and honestly, that is part of the fun.
Meanwhile, the rain has turned the gardens into something magical.

This morning’s menu at Capell House features an asparagus and shallot baked omelette, crispy breakfast potatoes, savory sausage, and fresh cantaloupe. Simple, gluten free by request, fresh, and exactly the kind of breakfast that says “you survived the long weekend.“

Sunday fun day in the kitchen at Capell House
Final recipe development is underway for our summer soups & salads experience. Today’s focus: a chilled cantaloupe and prosecco soup. Bright, aromatic, and built for warm-weather dining. Finished with a delicate nasturtium bloom, fresh from the garden, for a touch of peppery elegance and who doesn’t love an edible flower!?
This one is ready for the summer table.
