This Lemon Chess Pie has long been a favorite, with a bright flavor that fits the season and a preparation that remains simple and familiar. Whether shared with family or enjoyed at home, it reflects the traditions that extend beyond the field. 🍋
Ingredients:
½ cups sugar
4 eggs
1 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon cornmeal
¼ cup whole milk
¼ cup melted butter
¼ cup lemon juice
2 teaspoons lemon rind
1 (9-inch) pie shell
Instructions:
Combine sugar and eggs in a bowl.
Mix flour and cornmeal separately, then add to the egg mixture.
Gradually stir in milk, butter, lemon juice, and lemon rind.
Pour into an unbaked pie shell.
Bake at 350°F for 45–55 minutes, or until set.
