A familiar view from a 1963 Dodge News Magazine advertisement. Even then, House on Metolius was celebrated as a peaceful riverside retreatβa place to gather with loved ones and reconnect with nature.
At the time, a portion of House on Metolius was under the care of Eleanor Bechen, who operated a small cabin resort along the Metolius River. Her legacy lives on in Eleanor's Cabin, our 100-year-old cabin overlooking the river. In those early days, guests staying in the resort cabins would gather for meals, conversation and the same beautiful views that continue to define this special place today.
More than six decades later, the meadows are still green, the river still flows crystal clear and families continue to make memories here. Some things never go out of style. β¨π²
