Yesterday we cut the grass for the last time, removed the mower deck from the tractor, put it away, and finished filling our kindling wood rack.

Finally, it looks like Winter is arriving Thursday night. It's about time. Now we just need to of the white stuff.

I saw this little fellow on my hood today. He looked like he'd had a rough night, breathing deeply, head down, arms and legs spread so he wouldn't fall over.

We interrupt this Summer for one day of Winter followed by one day of Spring, and then return to our regular programming...

So, I'm in a shopping center parking checking texts. I hear someone yelling at someone to get in the car. By the colorfulness and volume of their speech it's obvious they are losing their temper. I get out of the truck and look around, not seeing anyone. Then I spot an elderly man walking away from a huge Newfoundland telling the dog that he was done. I walked over and the two of us got the 170 lbs puppy into the back of the SUV. At least I got to pet the big doggy before they left.
