The Newfound Place, circa 1930, is a completely remodeled farmhouse and is 1.6 miles off I-40, Exit 33. Centrally located between Asheville and Waynesville, it is a 15-20 minute drive to either town. We are a small, working horse farm, located in a private community in the countryside. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by a gracious front porch with inviting rocking chairs and wicker furniture--p
erfect for front porch sitting and visiting. Enter through the front door of the house, walk straight ahead, turn right & up the stairs to the Private Guest Suite. Accommodations include a private second story wing of the home, with its own thermostat. The Suite offers a luxurious king-sized bed and large sitting area, with stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains & horses grazing. The antique, yet modern bathroom has a double vanity, super-comfortable clawfoot tub for soaking and separate shower. A Queen Bedroom in this wing is available for additional guests in the party. Motorcyclists are offered indoor parking and horseback riders with truck and trailers have ample turnaround with circular driveway. Guests are welcome to hike the neighborhood--climb to the top of the mountain behind our home, or take a circuit trek around the east side of the neighborhood. Snacks & Continental Breakfast included & provided in room, with small refrigerator & coffee maker in the King-Suite. Ready access is available to the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Pisgah and Nantahala National Forests, Harmen Den Wildlife Refuge, the Biltmore House and Estate and the Western NC Ag Center. For those interested in outdoor sports, we can refer you to expert guides in hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, motorcycling routes, whitewater paddling or ziplining. Waynesville is a charming, small mountain town with a variety of unique shops, restaurants and its own local microbrewery. Several dining options are 5 minutes away from The Newfound Place, including Starbucks inside a local grocery store.
