When we bought the property there were two giant logs from a couple of maples that were cut down about 4 years ago. We had the wood cut up for firewood. We had the huge task of moving the pile from the front of the house to the back of the house. It took a couple of days but we got it all stacked up and drying.

We estimated the maple tree to have been planted (or sprouted) around the 1850's.
