A bachelor herd of six whitetail bucks stopped by the Guadalupe Get-A-Way right at dusk, all crowned in soft velvet and moving like they owned the place. Some say the older the buck, the stiffer the horns – judging by this crew, we had some seasoned veterans in the yard tonight. What a way to end the day on the Guadalupe.

In the meadow where the sun meets the sky,
A hummingbird and a fox pass by,
One flits and hovers with grace in the air,
The other slyly trots without a care.

The hummingbird sips nectar from flowers so bright,
With delicate wings that shimmer in the light,
Its habits are swift, a blur of colors so true,
A fleeting beauty in a world anew.

The fox, on the other hand, moves with cunning finesse,
In search of prey with a quiet impress,
Its habits are stealthy, a dance of patience and guile,
A creature of the night with a knowing smile.

Though different in habits, they each have their way,
One dancing with grace, the other, a clever display,
In the meadow, they meet, a contrast so clear,
A hummingbird and a fox, both noble and dear.

In a galaxy not so far away,
Anakin Skywalker, at 119, still has the play
Forever spry, like wine that’s aged
With poise divine, our antics staged.

No more barking at cars and noise,
Just love and treats, my fur-covered joys.
Through time’s crazy dance, we stand tall,
Sharing hopes, fears, laughs and all.

Old hound, my partner in crime,
Our bond unbroken, a silly rhyme.
Grateful for treats, moments so sweet,
Hearts intertwined, a goofy feat.

Growing old with this furry crew,
Laughs and love, forever true!
