We’ve had several rattlesnake sightings in the canyon recently! šŸ

As things warm up, they’re more active—so stay alert. Stick to the trails—it helps you spot snakes before you get too close. Keep your dog on a leash—it keeps them from surprising one (and keeps you in control if they do).

If you see one, back away slowly and give it space—they’ll usually move on if left alone. Remember—this is their home!

We have two venomous species here: prairie rattlesnakes and western diamondbacks—but plenty of non-venomous snakes call the canyon home too.

Stay aware and enjoy the canyon safely!
